Richard TAMBWE

Architect and urban planner

Richard M. Tambwe is an architect and urban planner by training (University of Notre Dame, IN, 2016) and (IBTP Kinshasa, 2004). He is completing a doctoral thesis at the crossroads of theology, philosophy, architecture and urban planning (ABD, Duquesne University, PA, 2027). He is available for consultation on any architecture or urban planning project, but also on any human questions requiring practical wisdom (including teaching and advising). He is interested in the human being at the centre of thought, faith and dwelling. One must be human first, before being learned or a believer. Rituals are, for human beings, techniques for making time habitable, allowing one to enter into time the way one would enter one’s own home in space. As for life with the God who came to dwell among us, it does not unfold in some distant future nor in an elusive paradise — it begins in this world and within this time. Building this present world as well as one can (magis) is already laying the foundation of paradise, whatever form it takes. For him, the beauty that illuminates all his endeavours is envisioned from the African continent.
